Today was a the marker of my final semester as a college student. However, this student isn't taking classes anymore. Rather I am teaching them, specifically I am teaching the young minds of 8th graders. Preparing to be their teacher, I find myself assessing what measures I must take to be a success to not only the goals and expectations of my college professors, supervisors, college administrators, and cooperating teacher. But I am also assessing how I personally am going to measure my successes and failures.
Upanishads expresses the idea of how my successes or failures are going to transpire this semester. Presenting the cliche "your actions speak louder than your words" alongside Upanishads' words, these two ideas culminate into a teacher's creed highlighting the importance of always trying to be diligent in the words and actions that one says or does when interacting with students, fellow colleagues, parents or administrators. Many times it is either our words or actions that Upanishads highlights in his writing that shows the progression of how our teacher image is cast.
